Battlestar Galactica Online is a Free to play MMORPG Space Shooter genre game, developed by BigPoint for Internet Browser plataform games.

Set in the universe established in the TV shows, Battlestar Galactica Online lets you choose to play as either a member of the Cylon or a human from the Colonial Fleet in this free to play MMORPG where the fight for survival and battle for resource is plays out directly in your browser using exciting 3-D graphics. Players can take command of a number of different ships, upgrading them with different weapons and items, explore this unknown territory and win victory for their chosen faction working directly from some of the lead characters as seen in the TV series.

In the midst of a huge battle between the advanced cyborg Cylon forces against the humans from the gathered Colonial Fleet, the humans try to jump to safety, unprepared for the ambush they tried to tactical retreat using their faster than light drives. However something went wrong and both assembled fleets are catapulted across the universe into an unknown section of space. Now stranded in the unknown both factions do what they can to survive hostile territory and the constant skirmishes from their sworn enemies that now share this foreign territory with them.

One of the key areas in this game is resource gathering, both fleets are battered and bruised and require that assembled allies to gather together resources to help re-arm and repair the ships. Whilst the area is unknown it would appear to be rich in titanium, water and tylium, three key resource is needed by both factions. Players are able to seek out abandoned derelicts where they may find resource is put more commonly they will mind them from asteroids, either by setting up mining platforms or by destroying it using your mining cannons.

There are a number of different ships available within the game to both factions, divided into three specific ship classes: Strike Craft, Escort and Line Ships. Strike Craft are the fastest and most nimble ships often used as fighters to chase down slower targets making it an exceptional interceptor. Escort ships are slightly larger than their strike Craft equivalent; more well-armed and heavily armoured they are well-balanced for combat. The line ships are the most exceptional and largest each Fleet has to offer, with a large weaponry Arsenal, superior engines and incredible defences it does not pay well to go head-to-head with one of the ships on your own.
